Description
MikroTik switches are very powerful devices on working on Layer 2. Many Data Centers are using MikroTik switches in their environment and have a very high uptime for their customers.
Since RouterOS v7, MikroTik has included a new feature on its switches which is MLAG (Multi-Chassing Link Aggregation Group). This feature is very much used in Switching data center environment allowing 2 or more switches to be seen as a virtual 1 switch. This would help that in case one of the switch goes down, then the network remains connected because the traffic will move to the 2nd switch. MLAG is a feature that is well known for many engineers working on Data Centers, and fortunately it is now available on MikroTik Switching environment using RouterOS v7,
In this course, I will be running same setup as it is run on Data Centers. I will surely have to explain 1st about what MLAG is all about in details, then I will start doing the configuration. I will be using VLANS as well because all Data Centers run VLANS. The MLAG will be configured on 2 MikroTik CRS3xx series switches, and at the end we are going to make a test to check if the failover happens in case one of the switches go offline.
The course will be based on LABS, and you are required to have at least 2 MikroTik CRS3xx switches and other 2 routerboards to be able to follow the LABS.
It is highly recommended for any students to repeat the LABS at home so at the end he can understand how to configure MLAG on MikroTik Switches.
Finally, if you wish to understand all about MLAG on MikroTik Switching, I advise to enroll in this course and I will go with you step by step to make this mission happens.
